Nondeterministic Admissible Interference

چکیده

In this article we address the issue of con dentiality of information in the context of downgrading systems i.e. systems admitting information ow between secrecy levels only through a downgrader. Inspired by the intuition underlying the usual de nition of admissible information ow, we propose an analogue based on trace equivalence as developed in the context of concurrency theory and on a modi cation of the usual de nition of purge function. We also provide unwinding conditions to guarantee a consistent and complete proof method in terms of communicating transition systems. We take advantage of this framework to investigate its compositionality issues w.r.t. the main operators over communicating transition systems. We conclude the article with a short presentation of this work's most promising aspects in the perspective of future developments.

Safe Equivalences for Security Properties

In the field of Security, process equivalences have been used to characterize various information-hiding properties (for instance secrecy, anonymity and non-interference) based on the principle that a protocol P with a variable x satisfies such property if and only if, for every pair of secrets s1 and s2, P [1/x] is equivalent to P [2/x]. We argue that, in the presence of nondeterminism, the ab...

Enumeration Reducibility and Computable Structure Theory

In classical computability theory the main underlying structure is that of the natural numbers or equivalently a structure consisting of some constructive objects, such as words in a finite alphabet. In the 1960’s computability theorists saw it as a challenge to extend the notion of computable to arbitrary structure. The resulting subfield of computability theory is commonly referred to as comp...

Stability of Random Admissible-Set Scheduling in Spatially Continuous Wireless Systems

We examine the stability of wireless networks whose users are distributed over a compact space. Users arrive at spatially uniform locations with intensity λ and each user has a random number of packets to transmit with mean β. In each time slot, an admissible subset of users is selected uniformly at random to transmit one packet. A subset of users is called admissible when their simultaneous ac...
